Have you heard about the HPV vaccines? Or, have you had HPV vaccine?
HPV stands for human papillomavirus. It is also known as the most commonly sexually transmitted infection. There are studies that say HPV is usually harmless and goes away by itself, but there are some types which lead to genital warts or cancer.
Since there’s no cure for the virus, treatment options are made available for the problems the virus can cause. Another thing, vaccines are available to prevent the HPV types that cause most cervical cancers as well as some cancers of the anus, vulva, vagina and oropharynx. With that being said, is it safe to say that there’s nothing to worry about?
We cannot totally say that there’s nothing to worry about HPV because what if the vaccine you thought could help you prevent it could actually make the situation worse? Yes, there’s a lawsuit which claims that a vaccine led to some life-changing problems.
